Apologies for the unoriginal stereotype of Australia… footy and kangaroos! Despite the idea that Australia has blistering sun all year round… thats not quite the truth here in Melbourne. I’ve waited months for the sun to peep through the clouds. Like the sun salutation is to a yogi, we as photographers love and honour the sun, as a source of natural light, harsh or diffused, the sun can set the overall feel of an image. To achieve sun flare, besides the obvious of shooting early or late in the day directly into the sun and using manual settings, I recently read that cheap zoom lenses are the best… of which I have none! These were taken on the 50mm 1.4 prime @ 1/125 sec, f5.6 Here is the same sun shining all over the world through different sets of eyes for Jinky Art assignment #9:
