Architecture is an art form just as photography is. As photographers, when we take shots of other peoples’s work, we need to do it justice. We need to show its beauty, design, space or texture but at the same time make sure that we create our own interpretation of it…our own piece of art so to speak. Chris and his family chose me to take photos of them several years ago when they were renting, whilst renovating their own home. After three years of dedication, they invited me back upon completion of their new home. Wow! I must say it was a pleasure to take photos in a home with such a sense of space… and a strong use of natural materials. No doubt the hard work has finally paid off and I had the opportunity of seeing the family interact with their new environment and the opportunity of capturing their positive energy. My spec for the dream photo was “architectural, stylish but playful”, so Chris, I hope that I have captured that for you.
